Rice cookers are designed to cook yep you guessed it, rice! But that doesn’t mean you should limit your rice cooker. After a bit of research (and a few trial and errors) I came across some really cool recipes that can be cooked in most standard rice cookers, and guess what? Some of them don’t involve any rice at all!

This is a simple, and delicious dish that can be used as a main meal or as a side.

Bibimbap (mixed rice) With Salmon and Spinach (Korean dish)

This is a signature dish in Korea that is served as a bowl of warm white rice topped with namul (sautéed and seasoned vegetables) and gochujang (chili pepper paste), soy sauce, or doenjang, a salty soybean paste. A raw or fried egg and sliced meat are common additions.  And with this recipe, you can cook it all in a rice cooker!
