Cute cats help out with the housework

Today we’re here to clear up a common misconception: that cats are lazy.

Sure, they sleep 20 hours a day. And yes, admittedly, they’re quite happy to lie on your favourite sofa all day while you earn the money to buy their food, transport it home, serve it within metres of their bed and then clean their dish while they poop in a box (also cleaned by you).

BUT did you know that cats can help out with common household chores? Well, they can. EXHIBIT A:

Kitten oversees robot vacuum

In this hilarious clip, kitten Dexter makes sure that the NaviBot is doing its job. Ten points to you Dexter, keep up the good work!

And in the image below (part of the RSPCA’s campaign: “Show us some love. We’ll return the favour”) a considerate cat helps out by vacuuming the couch. Looks like an Electrolux Rapido to us! 😉

Cat in fridge helps you lose weight

Is your new year’s resolution to lose a few kilos? Forget protein shakes or diet pills, the best way to keep your healthy eating plan on track is to invest in a fridge cat.

Fridge cats offer two key advantages:

•    They stare at you with their round unblinking cat eyes, shaming you into choosing carrots over cheesecake
•    They eat the cheesecake

Example 2

Cats in fridges have also inspired a song, aptly named ‘There is a cat in my fridge.’ Hit prediction: remember you heard it here first!

Dishwasher cat reduces water consumption

Sick of paying ginormous water bills? Now you can save money and resources by getting your cat to ‘rinse’ your dishes before popping them (the dishes, not the cat) in the dishwasher. “Works great until the Health Department finds out!”

(We figure now’s about as good a time as any to remind readers that Appliances Online does NOT endorse putting your cat in the dishwasher or in any other appliance, ever!)

Cats make dental hygiene fun!

Cats in sinks are such a common occurrence that there is even a website devoted to them. “Cats in sinks are always cute” – what more needs to be said?

Cats take the ire out of ironing

Look, we’re not going to lie to you – there’s not much that a cat can do to actually assist with the ironing. …Unless they’re this cat:

But regardless of whether or not your cat is dextrous enough to handle a Panasonic 360° Quick Iron, they have the ability to transform an unpleasant task into a bit of fun everyone can enjoy:

Louise is a writer with a passion for appliances, especially those that involve food. She is particularly fond of ovens because they enable her to make cake. Apart from baking Louise also enjoys listening to alternative music, dying her hair various unnatural colours and writing poetry that has been described (by her Nan) as 'quite nice'. On her appliance wish list is a Hello Kitty toaster and 'Hero' the barking dog-shaped hot dog maker. She lives in Sydney. Google+
