Appliances Online: proud to be Australian

Whether you’ll be relaxing at the beach, enjoying a beer with mates or cooking up a storm on the barbie, Australia Day gives us all an opportunity to be thankful for everything that’s great about our country.

Reflecting on the year that’s been, Appliances Online has a lot to celebrate. We’ve expanded from 20 to around 100 staff, and the number of people who have bought from us has grown to over 170,000.

That’s pretty spectacular considering that just seven years ago Appliances Online consisted of one guy (our CEO John Winning), a laptop and a rented delivery truck. Back then people were still sceptical as to whether online retail would ever take off – now the tune has most definitely changed with nearly three quarters of Australians buying presents online last Christmas.

100% Australian owned and operated, Appliances Online is a family-run business that answers to customers, not shareholders. Our call centre is based in Sydney, we deliver anywhere in Australia and we stock Australian brands like St George and Beefeater. Run by Australians for Australians – that’s what Appliances Online is all about.

So if you need a bar fridge for your stubbies or a barbeque for your kanga bangas, you know where to shop!

Plus there’s still time to pick up a bargain at our New Year Sale – like this Dimplex BBQ for only $187 – that’s $112 off the RRP!

And of course our customer service team will be available to help you all day on Australia Day from 7am to 11pm. You beauty.

How will you be celebrating Australia Day?

Louise is a writer with a passion for appliances, especially those that involve food. She is particularly fond of ovens because they enable her to make cake. Apart from baking Louise also enjoys listening to alternative music, dying her hair various unnatural colours and writing poetry that has been described (by her Nan) as 'quite nice'. On her appliance wish list is a Hello Kitty toaster and 'Hero' the barking dog-shaped hot dog maker. She lives in Sydney. Google+
