Samsung recalls defective washing machines

notice-recallSamsung has issued a recall of six defective models from its selection of top loader washing machines.

The affected washers were manufactured between 1 February 2010 and 28 February 2013.

They include the following models :

• SW65V9WIP/XSA

• SW75V9WIP/XSA

• SW70SPWIP/XSA

• SW80SPWIP/XSA

• WA85GWGIP/XSA

• WA85GWWIP/XSA

Please contact Samsung’s Recall Hotline on 1800 239 655 or email wm.samsung@samsung.com for further information. Samsung will be able to identify whether your machine is one of the faulty models and send a technician to fix it.

In order to help Samsung process your inquiry as quickly and efficiently as possible, please have your washing machine serial number ready prior to your call.

The serial number on the top loaders is located on the rear panel of the machine – on the left-hand side as you look at the back of the machine.

The latest info we have received from Samsung is that:

1)      The dedicated 1800 239 655 capacity has been significantly increased. Operating hours for this line have been extended to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week until further notice.

2)      A second dedicated hotline has been established on 1800 680 174, this hotline will run from 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week.
