The new range of fridges from Panasonic will feature new technologies aimed at keeping food fresher for longer, increasing energy efficiency and will have a robust yet pleasing appearance.

Due to be released to the Australian market in June, the fridges will be available in three sizes: 554 litres, 465 litres and 421 litres, in stainless steel or white.

“Our new range of refrigerators combines three key elements: freshness features, energy saving features and functional design,” said Prue Sheehan, product marketing manager – whitegoods and small appliances, Panasonic Australia.

“Panasonic is committed to providing a range of products that help keep food fresher for longer for health conscious Australians, as well as smart technologies that ensure this happens automatically, requiring minimal effort from the consumer as well as having minimal impact on the environment.”

The fresh food fridge

Panasonic is using blue and green LED lights in the vege crisper to activate the natural defences of fruits and veges. It’s a technology it calls Vitaminsafe and it is supposed to keep food fresher for longer.

Additionally, food in the crisper isn’t in the direct path of the airflow to prevent drying and damage to fresh food and the area is kept at a high humidity, according to Panasonic.

An AG Clean silver-coated filter has anti-bacterial properties to clean and deoderise circulating air. It is supposed to kill 99 per cent of mould and bacteria inside of the fridge.

Energy saving

ECONAVI is Panasonic’s line of energy saving appliances featuring sensors and programmes that change depending on the user’s living environment and how they use them.

The new fridges use four sensors to measure how the fridge is being used and adapt energy consumption through efficient cooling. The sensors gauge light, the door opening, room temperature and internal temperature.

According to Panasonic, the Smart Eco Mode will remember daily patters and increase power when it thinks the fridge is most in use and decrease power when it’s not.

  1. In ECONAVI refrigerators intelligent sensor technology is
combined with sophisticated control programs. This is done to improve cooling
energy efficiency. It can also be used to optimize performance automatically based
on the use of refrigerator daily. It comes with four types of sensors that are
used to monitor the activity of door, even light conditions, external and
internal temperatures, etc. In these fridges the food is always refrigerated at
optimal temperature that allow the food to be fresh and delicious for long
    time.
