How to make a sumptuous snack of spicy guacamole – Homemade snacks, made easy!

Homemade food doesn’t always mean slaving over a stove for hours to create an epic dish to feed the whole family. In this four part series of recipes, here are some tasty recipe ideas you can quickly rustle up for yourself:
1. Spicy Guacamole
Whether watching a blockbuster movie, or a ripping game of football, nothing adds perfect company on the couch quite like a bowl of chips. And to spice up this dream TV combo, why not try making your own guacamole?
This recipe is the perfect variation of a traditional guac that I picked up while living in California, and is the ultimate pairing to tortilla chips. It will make you think you’re kicking back in Mexico.
Serve with some corn chips as a snack or top nachos with this delicious avocado mixture. The following recipe is a guide to a spicy, zesty and delicious guacamole that can be modified to accommodate all tastes.
Ingredients
- 3 Hass avocados
- ½ Red onion
- 1 Lime (more to taste)
- 1 Heaped tablespoon of chopped coriander
- 1 Garlic cloves
- 2 Vine-ripened tomatoes
- ½ Green chilli (more for extra spice)
- 2 Teaspoons salt
- ½ Teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ½ Teaspoon ground cumin
Method
- Peel and scoop avocado flesh, place in bowl and begin to mash.
- Mix in salt, cayenne pepper, ground cumin, coriander and crushed garlic.
- Remove seeds from the tomatoes and dice them along with the chilli and onion.
- Fold these ingredients into the rest of the mix.
- Slowly pour in juice lime will continuing to mix into the guacamole.
- Serve with good quality tortilla chips.
