One of the most recognised trans-Tasman brands has put on an impressive launch to announce its new product ranges.

In a launch dubbed “The Social Kitchen”, Fisher & Paykel revealed its latest appliance offerings in a stylish pop-up marque overlooking Sydney Harbour last night (August 28).

According to chief operating officer Mike Church, Fisher & Paykel is set to deliver a range of products suited for the ever-changing Australian home, including a “long-awaited” range of ovens and microwaves, as well as gas cooktops and dynamic cooking systems (DSC) barbeques.

“Behind the scenes our engineers and design people have being doing a lot of work on the fit and finish, the quality of materials, the design and layout [and] the installation ability of these products,” he said last night (August 28).

One of the stand out products of the night was the compact 790mm French door fridge, which features 690mm wide shelves and an optional slimline water dispenser and icemaker conveniently tucked away in the freezer.

“We think this is going to sell really well – the larger 900 [litre] product has been one of our flagship products now for a while, so for those with a smaller budget and who want the fit and finish and the quality of that product, it is now available in a smaller size,” Mr Church stated.

The other product the Appliances Online team is excited about is the WashSmart 10kg capacity washing machine.

Ideal for larger families – or those who simply don’t like to spend a lot of time cleaning their clothes – the extra-large capacity machine includes a sleek control panel and soft close lid.

The CleanSmart 10kg washing machine was also featured, boasting a water efficient low profile agitator design and industry-best energy usage on top of the WashSmart features.

“We have never participated in this category before and we’ve identified this as being the growth category in the top loading sector,” Mr Church added.

“[They are] very smart, a lot of attention to detail and quite beautifully made. We have high hopes for both these products as the segment continues to grow.”

All the way from the land of the flightless bird, Krissy brings a part of New Zealand culture to the Appliances Online content team. And although she is adamant she does not say 'fush and chups', she can't deny her continuous use of the term 'sweet as' and her ongoing argument with her team on the correct name for jandals (thongs). One thing is for certain, however, her passion for her kiwi slang is matched with her love for sharing news, hacks and buying tips for all things appliances! Krissy's favourite appliance is the Tefal Cook4Me multi cooker, as she believes it's ok to let an appliance do all the work for you.
