Transtherm & Vintec Appliances Company Background
Transtherm Australia Pty Ltd was created at the end of 1998 by the Simart family in association with Corndale marketing, holding company of Vintec and Transtherm, a company based in Singapore and selling and distributing French grandcru wines and wine cabinets all over Asia.
Transtherm incorporating Vintec is owned 50/50 between the Simart family and Corndale Marketing Pty Ltd.
Jean-Marie Simart, an Australian born in Paris, a former banker who has spent most of his career in Asia. Passionate about wine, he discovered, through "Corndale Consultants", a "wonderful thing" whilst in Singapore: the wine cabinet.
With neither the space nor time to build an underground cellar, he finally had found the ideal solution: an elegant looking cellar, easily movable and perfectly efficient to keep his wines in pristine condition for the long or short term.
A solid friendship and the concept of Transtherm / Vintec Australia was born.
At the end of 1998, after leaving the banking industry and returning permanently to Sydney, Jean-Marie Simart and his wife Leonie created Transtherm Australia Pty Ltd.
Transtherm / Vintec commenced operation at the beginning of 1999 by importing a few models of one brand: Transtherm, manufactured in France.
The success of this new concept in a country where the wine industry was growing at a fast pace, with consumers becoming more knowledgeable about wine preservation, was immediate.
Today Transtherm / Vintec Australia specialises in wine storage cabinets selling under four brands: Transtherm, Vintec, Helicave and Espace which provide a comprehensive range of products from a small Vintec 2 temperature cabinet for 40 bottles up to a walk in cellar for 3,900 bottles. The average capacity of the cabinets being 120 to 240 bottles.
Transtherm / Vintec sells all over Australia and New Zealand through selected retailers.
