Canopy style rangehoods are usually positioned against the wall, above your cooking area. They remove heat, steam, grease, and odours from your kitchen through ducted vents. Most models duct air outside through the wall or roof, although some models allow you to recirculate the air.
Retractable or slide-out rangehoods can be built into the cupboard space above your stove, and they are a great option for those with small kitchens. Because of their minimalistic design, they will coordinate perfectly with your existing kitchen décor.
Fixed rangehoods can be installed against the wall, and they generally take up less space than a canopy style extractor hood. If space is an issue, you could consider an under-cupboard rangehood, which can be integrated seamlessly into your cabinetry.
Island rangehoods are designed to be installed in the ceiling, above a freestanding cooking ‘island'. These canopy hoods look great and they also extract air quickly and efficiently.
