A The benefit of having both Electric and Induction would be for those who wish to use pots and pans that aren't suitable for Induction Cooktops ( non metalic ). Having the option of Electric means you don't need to buy the full range of cook ware to suit a specific Cooktop, It's like having the best of both worlds in Cooktops.
