Product Question - 5.5kg Front Load Simpson Washing Machine SWF8556

I have recently purchased a SWF8556. I am unhappy about it dictating to me what method I should use for my washing: I want to use a HOT PRE-WASH, then a COLD WASH - I thought not possible with this one. However, I have come up with a [somewhat complicated] method. 1. Any method at 90 degrees. When it has gone round a few times, and is properly mixed, hit pause button. 2. Return 2+ hours later (or overnight). Finish and spin. 3. Wait for the door to be unlocked. 4. Put the rest of the cottons wash into the barrel. 5. Check to make sure the detergent for the whole wash is still there; and top up the soak detergent 6. Set the cottons night time program on 30 degrees and the delay at 5 or 6 hours. 7. Go. 8. In the morning, finish the cycle, and then set the 'extra rinse' cycle at fast spin. 9. And there, HALLELUJAH! you have it. Bit of a rigmarole, isn't it? I've never met a machine I couldn't tame.
