8kg Top Load Maytag Washing Machine 6AMTW5555TQ The whole maytag experience is poor. We bought the maytag sight unseen based on a good reputation for long life & serviceability - we had a run of bad luck with expensive electronic failures with two Fisher & Paykel washers and we keen to invest in something a bit more reliable & repairable. Sadly, the maytag is like stepping back in time about 20 years. The build quality seems good if very 'agricultural'. The setup process and documentation is overly complex (for example the F&P install is dead simple and the documentation is spot on). The main issue we have is that the maytag is pounding our clothes to death - it is very harsh on clothes and seems to have no system to deal with lint (clothes emerge from the washer with clumps of lint pounded into them). This might be a good washer for industrial clothing but it's not working out so well for us. Brett

I have since found it quite noisy and the beep at the end of cycle sounds more like my egg timer and it is really loud. question...This was definitely a waste of my money!
