KitVac began its journey in 2009 with a vision to build the most compact and innovative vacuum system in the world. Since most of our daily mess is generated in and around our kitchen, dining and living areas, the KitVac internal vacuum system was developed to specifically target these areas of the home.

Unlike a portable vacuum cleaner, the KitVac system can be permanently installed into your kitchen cabinetry (close to the floor). A tube connects the main vacuum unit to a dustpan in your kitchen skirting board which is designed to sit flush for a seamless, unobtrusive look. To start the vacuum, simply tap the dustpan kick-plate with your toe. The flap will open and the vacuum will start operating. Then it's simply a matter of sweeping any dirt towards the opening in the skirting board, where the powerful vacuum action will suck up all your crumbs, food particles, dirt, and other debris. The main unit will store waste in a sealed bag which can be easily changed once full.

KitVac systems also come with a slinky stretch hose to help you vacuum hard-to-reach areas such as benchtops, shelves, window sills, etc. All you need to do is open the cupboard, click the hose into place, and start vacuuming. Your KitVac also comes included with a retractable broom which can be neatly stored inside the cupboard, or kept on hand to help you clean up kitchen mess in an instant.

Installation is easy, and the bags can be replaced quickly and hygienically. The bag itself has a 5-layer HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) filter which can help to remove allergens from the air, providing cleaner air for you and your family to breathe. This is particularly good news for those who suffer from allergies or asthma, because it can remove tiny allergen-causing particles from the air.

KitVac gained full product approval in (SAA101387EA) in December 2010 and has since been accredited into the Australian Technology Showcase (May 2011) which is designed to promote leading-edge new Australian technologies. Hence, KitVac successfully developed the first ever surface-mount ‘flush’ automatic floor dustpan and built-in cupboard vacuum system with a dual inlet bag.

In July 2011 KitVac was awarded the Directors Choice Award for the best new innovative product at the Gold Coast Home Show. Following on from that success KitVac has been steadily gaining momentum in Australia and is fast becoming a popular alternative to traditional barrel vacuum cleaners.

Another key feature of the KitVac system is the ability to run two dustpans off the one system. This means you can install one dustpan inlet under your kitchen cabinets, and another at the front of your kitchen island bench. This is especially convenient if your island bench backs onto your dining/living areas.
