A The Rio does not have a timer. The Odyssey and the Artisan have timers that you can purchase (they do not come with it). The Rio has a themostat so when the room temperature drops below 5 degs the heater will start up again, this will help lower running costs. You are able to have this heater hard wired by an electrician.

Q What is the difference between radiant and convection?
Question for:
Atlantic Odyssee Electric Panel Heater 557620
Asked by

A The Odyssee is primarily a convection heater but uses 10% radiant heating.
A convection heater is a heater which operates by air convection currents circulating through the body of the appliance, and across its heating element.
Radiant heating consists of radiant energy being emitted from a heat source. The heat energy is emitted from a warm element, such as a floor, wall or overhead panel, and warms people and other objects in rooms rather than directly heating the air.

Q Hello, Would you be able to tell me the difference between this heater and this one Atlantic Artisan Electric Panel Heater 519622? I notice this one has 'radiant heat distribution' but doesn't the other one do the same? Many thanks.

A The Odyssee and Artisian both have 7 year warranties and 2000W power. The difference is that the Artisian is a convection heater only whereas the Odyssee is both a convection and radiant heater. The panel of the Odyssee, while still safe to touch, radiates heat and thereby provides a premium level of comfort.

A The rounded corners and child locks on these heaters make them safe for mounting in a childs room. They do not get as hot to the touch as most other heaters - but of course, as with any heaters, caution needs to be exercised.
