This machine does exactly what I want it to -
washes my clothes very well and sits in the corner
unobtrusively until I need it again. It's sturdy
enough to have my dryer on top and never moves during use. I
haven't had any problems with it. I love the fact that

The service is great and delivery times are
better than local businesses can provide - delivery cost
difference is negligible. I will probably never buy
appliances anywhere else in future. Why would I, when I
can shop in the comfort of my own home, order online and
just sit back and wait for delivery? I like that Appliances

A Noise is a very difficult thing to comment on as in most cases it is a personal opinion.
As with all washing machines the final spin is the loudest part of the cycle, the faster the spin the more noisy it is.
For example Bosch who are in my opinion the best front load manufacturer on the market have spin speeds up to 1600RPM, when the 8kg front loader is spinning at that incredible speed it sounds like a jet is flying past.
This is however only for the final few minutes of the cycle.
Other factors that can alter what one person calls noisy and another not is location, acoustics of the room the machine is in, the distance from the machine, what the walls are made off and the particular load you have in the machine per cycle.
In answer to your question, this machine is no more or less noisy than another machine in the same category.
The saving grace is that is does not have a very high spin speed which will make it a lot quieter in its final spin than higher end models.
One important factor in reducing noise is to make sure the machine is as level as possible, the slightest of angle can cause extra vibration and hence more noise.
A useful method to help reduce vibration through the floor is to have a thick rubber matt made from clark rubber or similar and have the machine sitting on that, this can dampen any vibration traveling though to the floor.
Q IS THE CYCLE OF THIS MACHINE AUTOMATIC?
I JUST BOUGHT THIS MACHINE A COUPLE DAYS AGO, I FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS AND IT IS LIKE DOESN'T WORK NORMALLY, THE CYCLE DOESN'T MOVE..I DONT KNOW WHAT IS WRONG.

A This has an electronic selector all you do is select the wash program and press start. The selector will not move like the old mechanical dial machines.
Q I have recently purchased a SWF8556. I am unhappy about it dictating to me what method I should use for my washing: I want to use a HOT PRE-WASH, then a COLD WASH - I thought not possible with this one. However, I have come up with a [somewhat complicated] method.
1. Any method at 90 degrees. When it has gone round a few times, and is properly mixed, hit pause button.
2. Return 2+ hours later (or overnight). Finish and spin.
3. Wait for the door to be unlocked.
4. Put the rest of the cottons wash into the barrel.
5. Check to make sure the detergent for the whole wash is still there; and top up the soak detergent
6. Set the cottons night time program on 30 degrees and the delay at 5 or 6 hours.
7. Go.
8. In the morning, finish the cycle, and then set the 'extra rinse' cycle at fast spin.
9. And there, HALLELUJAH! you have it.
Bit of a rigmarole, isn't it? I've never met a machine I couldn't tame.

Last weekend, the kettle blew up, the cars oil thingy lit up and my dearly loved front loader which has moved interstate three times in 5 years decided it had finally had enough. So had I – with no time and no desire to deal with any of the above so got on the internet last Tuesday night...here is my experience
Step 1: Google on Tuesday 2nd, after work
Step 2: Find appliancesonline.com.au, check out brands, features and prices (excellent!)
Step 3: Order new washing machine, delivery on Thursday please with a phone call half hour prior, take away the old one and install the new one – for $20!!!!
Step 4: Emailed receipts and acknowledgement of order (same night)
Step 5: Thursday – as promised – phone call half hour prior, old one taken to heaven, new one installed, the delivery man was friendly, thorough and efficient. I was away from work for less than an hour.
Step 6: Go home and play with new toy
Step 7:Write thank you email
What an absolute shock, pleasure and relief to deal with efficient, friendly people who deliver an excellent product, price and service on time and as advertised.
